Wow, been a few months since I’ve blogged I see. Well, let’s start off by saying I am, in fact, still alive.

Let me recap on the goings-on in the last few months.

  • Went Morel hunting quite a few times, including an overnight hiking trip to Cheboygan. Found a fair amount. Pictures can be found HERE.
  • I picked up a new hobby; Trapping Crayfish. It’s pretty fun.
  • I took a week vacation and the entire family and I went up to Brevort and camped. I caught many fish, and had much fun. Pictures will also follow later.
  • I have many backpacking trips planned. Hopefully i’ll get off my lazy ass and blog some posts when they are done.

Other than that, things have been pretty much the same.

Long time no blog, eh? Let’s see what’s been happening…

Well, my brother was ordained as an Elder at his church this last Sunday. It was nice, and afterwards we went to my parents house for food and visiting. It was nice to see my nephew for awhile as well. Amanda could not join is because she was / is sick. She finally went to see the doctor while we were at church. She has some sort of infection. I personally think it’s tropical sprue virus, but the doctors disagree. Silly doctors…

Nothing has changed at work. So… it’s still… worky…

I judged a blind Axis and Allies game at the Geek Shop Saturday. The Allies pulled off a victory, but that has got to have been the strangest game I’ve ever seen played out.

While I was at my parents house I dusted off my old art / sculpting bag and painted a few miniatures. I’ll try to get some pictures up soon. I even sculpted and kilned (?sp?) a few wizard tomes down to a 25mm scale and painted them. It turned out quite well.

I had coffee with Kelly last Thursday. It was quite nice to catch up and laugh for awhile. Of course B&N didn’t have any of the books I wanted, so that was a bit of a let down. Oh well.

My Busha is back into the hospital. Apparently she had some surgery on her nose and the blood clot broke lose, or something to that effect. From what I hear, she’ll be ok and coming home hopefully soon.

Well, I think that’s it for awhile. It’s raining outside right now, which isn’t the best thing the entire world. I would rather have 20 feet of snow than 3 inches of rain.

Stay Dry!

Some days you just feel like an emperor, and some days you just feel as if you’re the piss boy. Today is neither. I feel… out of it. I have had bouts of intense headaches the last few days; unknown as to why. Work is going well, though for how long I do not know. It’s a shame to see an empire crumble.

Interesting Factoid: Roman Emperor Nero’s last words were “Qualis artifex pereo“—roughly, “What an artist dies in me”.

Keep warm!

Thanks to my friend and co-worker Joe St. Pierre, I now have the best chair in the entire world.

Of course, my girlfriend and brother think it’s UGLY, HOWEVER… it’s really really comfortable, and it’s clearly the most interesting design I have ever seen.

So, now I may come home and sit upon my throne in peace and comfort.

Well Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all that crap.

Now that the formalities are done, we can press on. I know that I have not written in some time. So as a New Year’s resolution, I’ve decided (among other things) to write on my blog more.

Let’s see, what’s been happening lately…

Work has been tolerable, yet unknown. Hence the word “funambulate”, which means “to walk on ropes”. After my hours have been cut, and my gas plan had been smacked, we’re finding it rather difficult to make ends meet. As of right now, we are caught up on bills, which is slightly relaxing, although it’s only for now. It seems that every day at work is a new adventure and a new rumor. We’re selling the franchise, we’re not selling the franchise, we’re selling the property, we’re doing nothing… I just wish people would make up their minds yeah?
Amanda and I are doing great. She was a bit moody this last week, due to a standard anatomical monthly increase in hormones (you geeks know what I mean…) but life is peachy now and we make due. We’ve cleaned the ENTIRE house in the last few weeks. We got rid of quite a few things, which felt sooooooooo good. We cleaned the upstairs now too! So I have an exercise room equipped with 10 speaker surround sound, plus we cleaned all of the downstairs, bedroom, closet, porch, kitchen, living room, even scoured the turtle tank! Maybe i’m nesting… yeah… that’s it…

Christmas was great. I got Amanda quite a few things that she had asked for during the year, and she did the same for myself. It did not really seem like Christmas for some strange reason. Perhaps next year we will have to try harder to get into the “Christmas spirit”. I DID however, receive a receiver insert rack for the Jeep! Now we can take more than just what fits in the back on trail rides and beach trips. w00t!

Gaming is going well. My Saginaw group is outstanding, as expected. They seem to really enjoy Changeling to the point of talking about it after the game is over and everything. The Heroes Unlimited portion of it fell through, as Jason Parker had some personal issues to deal with and could not run it. I think we are going to try some 3.5 DnD shortly.

Oh yeah! Saturday the 26th is Axis & Allies (Blind) at the Geek Shop, so tell your friends to come!

Christmas at the [my] grandparents was interesting. Ever since I became a man (w00t) I find it very relaxing to visit with relatives who would never talk to me before because I was a “kid”. My cousin Nick’s wife Amy started her own bead and jewelry site / business, of which I will have links up to shortly. It was nice visiting with her, as I have never really gotten a chance to sit down and talk to her.

Well, I best get back to work. I’m sure i’ll post more later on, perhaps when I get home.
